Hold the back page!!!!
Couple of shots from Sundays North Yorkshire Classic Rally made it into the local paper yesterday. My first ever published shots have really put a smile on my face today, I even drove to hunt down a copy of the paper with the roof down. Not even the cold could stop me today!

North Yorkshire Classic Rally
After the bitter cold of Saturday, it was back out on Sunday to slightly warmer climbs, in the grounds of Duncombe Park, Helmsley, North Yorkshire, to spectate at a great classic car rally.
With help from the York Motor Club, I was able to take photos on one of the Rally stage tests, which was run twice. Once in the morning, and once after lunch.
A great selection of cars, including some gorgeous Alfas, Porsches and Escorts, and no snow on the ground made for a great day out.
Apparently after most teams made a navigational error, the event was won by a team running a Hillman Imp, which was great to hear.

Border Counties Rally 2013
The start to a VERY cold weekend! An early morning start from home with a lot of snow on the untracked roads was testing, but once north of Darlington the driving got much easier, except for drifting snow across the tops in Northumberland.
A good days rallying with some interesting stages, but conditions for the cars were difficult, with very icy stages, and lying snow in places.
Made it to two stages and photos from them follow.
It was a difficult day photographically, due to freezing temps and high wind, plus the cars were taking it pretty steady in treacherous conditions. Still, a great fun day out in a beautiful part of the world.

Croft Circuit Testing
Flooded roads, snow and freezing winds. All part of the fun to watch some cars testing at Croft and a bit of free entry motorsport to watch.

My first trip to the Lake District, and I didn't manage to take one single landscape photo. I was far too pre-occupied with the rally cars flying about. It was great to spectate in such a beautiful area, and I have tried to include some of the landscape into my shots. I shall post some other, more standard rally shots afterwards.
